July 4th · Nationwide
STAND UP. SHOW UP.
PICNIC FOR DEMOCRACY.
Organize a protest picnic in your local park this July 4th. Reserve a table, invite your neighbors, bring sandwiches, bring signs — and take a stand together. No paid staff, no corporate logos. Just Americans showing up for each other.
The Movement
WHAT IS A PROTEST PICNIC?
A community picnic at your local park where neighbors gather for speeches, networking, civic action, and solidarity. It's democracy at the picnic table — informal, joyful, unstoppable. Simple. Powerful. Nationwide.
Reserve a Park Table
Pick your local park and lock in a time. Easy enough that anyone can do it — no permit, no fees, no gatekeepers.
Invite Your Community
Share your event with neighbors, activists, and friends. We'll give you the page, the tools, and the talking points.
Stand for Democracy
Show up, speak up, and stand together with Americans across the country. Every picnic is a vote. Every vote counts.

HOW IT WORKS
Create your event
Fill in your park, date, and details in minutes. Upload a flyer if you've got one — we'll make it look great.
Invite your community
Share your event page with neighbors and activists. Post in your group chat, your block, your church, your union hall.
Show up and make noise
Gather, speak, network, and take civic action together. Bring sandwiches. Bring signs. Bring a friend.
Why It Matters
Democracy isn't a spectator sport.
Every protest picnic is a rejection of the idea that politics happens "somewhere else" — in Washington, on cable news, in the comments section. It happens at the picnic table. On the front porch. In the park down the street.
- Register voters between the lemonade and the speeches
- Connect with local candidates and ballot initiatives
- Build a network of neighbors who show up for each other
- Train the next generation of community organizers

STANDING TOGETHER
Hundreds of pro-democracy organizations share our values. We stand alongside them — they don't run Protest Picnic, but the work is connected.

Got Questions?
FREQUENTLY ASKED
Do I need a permit?
Most public parks don't require permits for casual gatherings under ~50 people. Larger events may. Check your city's parks website — and when in doubt, just go.
Is this safe?
Yes. Protest picnics are peaceful, family-friendly community gatherings. Stay in public space, be kind, follow park rules, and trust your neighbors.
What does a picnic cost?
Nothing. Bring a dish to share. Make a sign with a sharpie and cardboard. The whole point is that anyone, anywhere, can do this.
Can I host alone?
You can — but co-hosting with one or two friends makes it easier and more fun. We'll connect you with experienced organizers nearby.
What happens after the picnic?
We follow up with your RSVPs to keep the momentum going — voter registration drives, local meetings, follow-on actions.
